Product Care

For your safety, and to get the best out of your soy candle, follow these simple instructions.

The first time you light your candle, it is important to allow the wax to melt right to the edge of the container. This is called a melt pool. Allowing a full melt pool guarantees an even burn (no tunnelling), and maximum fragrance throw.
As a general rule, burn the candle a minimum of 3 hours the first time and for at least 2 hours at a time after that.
Do not burn your candle or more than 4 hours at a time.
Do not burn in a draft. A draft may provide more oxygen to a flame which may cause a hotter, uneven burn.

Before each use, trim the candle’s wick to 5mm. This stops smoking and dripping, creates an even burn pattern and your candle will last longer.
Never move or relight your candle until flame is out and completely solid.
If the wick becomes too long while burning, extinguish flame and then trim.
Be sure to not over trim the wick. If the wick is too short it will result in too small of a flame and the melt pool will not reach the edges of the container.
Centre the wick after each burn and do not allow trimmed wicks, matches or other objects to remain in the candle.
Don’t blow your candle out. Put your candle out by dipping the wick using a bamboo skewer or other similar object, into the melted wax and straightening the wick. This stops the wick smoking and will help with relighting next time. Never use a container’s lid to put out flame.
We suggest that you purchase a pair of wick trimmers from us which are specially designed for easy care of your candle, however, a pair of nail clippers or scissors will also work.

Failure to follow instructions could result in fire, hazard or injury.
Never move a lit candle
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Keep free of any foreign material.
Burn candles away from soft furnishings and other combustibles.
Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets.
Always burn your candle on a level, heat resistant surface and away from drafts.
Only burn your candle to the last centimeter to prevent glass cracking.
Do not allow water or moisture to mix with the wax. This can cause the wax to splatter or pop.
Caution, container may become hot.

Try to store your candle cool, dry area, below 25 degrees, and keep away from direct sunlight.
On extremely hot days you might notice the candle sweat slightly. This is nothing to worry about and reabsorbs into the wax when the temperature goes down.

Some imperfections are only natural with hand poured candles and with soy wax. Every candle will be slightly different.
When using natural soy wax there may be spots where the wax has not adhered 100% to the glass. This is completely normal and nothing to worry about.
It is normal for the wax to become slightly darker after the wax has melted when lit.

Soy Melts

Mt. Eliza Soy Melts can be used in either electric warmers or tea light oil burners.
Place your warmer in a safe, stable location, away from drafts and out of the reach of children or pets.
Place a melt in the top of a dry warmer or oil burner – do not add water.
Switch on warmer or light an unscented tea light candle in the base of the oil burner and allow the wax to melt – when melted a delightful aroma will be released into the room.
Once spent, either wipe up wax with paper towel or allow the wax to cool and harden fully, pop the warmer in the freezer for a few minutes and the melt will pop out.

Mini Diffusers

1. Unscrew lid & remove plastic stopper.
2. Replace lid & tip upside down for 2-3 seconds. Be careful not to over-wet as this can lead to fragrance absorbing up the string & causing damage to plastic/wooden surfaces.
3. Remove lid & replace plastic stopper.
4. Replace lid.

To refresh, follow steps 1-4 above again. *Take care not to spill liquid when refreshing fragrance. Remove from car and tighten lid before tipping upside down.

Wipe any leaks & spills immediately as fragrance can damage plastic & wooden surfaces. If your diffuser is hanging, be aware of this and what it is hanging on. Do not leave bottle lying on a surface, hang at all times or leakage will occur. Ensure bottle lid is kept tight at all times or leakage will occur. If leakage does occur, clean surface immediately. To avoid breakage, remove bottle if traveling over bumpy surfaces. Do not allow the lid or string to come into contact with plastics or painted surfaces. Avoid contact with eyes, skin or clothing. If chosen to place in a car, do not hang anywhere that can cause driver distraction or impeded vision. Prolonged exposure to high interior temperatures must be avoided. If outside temperature is high remove bottle and place in sealed container to avoid leakage or damage.
